What is K-Map?

K-Map stands for "KITAMS Map".  It is a website tool which uses Google map as its base map and allows its users to create or mark spots on it and at the same time add information.

What is a K-Address?

K-Address stands for "KITAMS Address" which represents a spot on the K-Map.  It is composed of one letter and 9-digit numbers.

What are the predefined categories of the spots?

K-Address A place that is not categorized by K-Map.
24-hour Store A store that is open for 24 hours, 7 days a week.
Apartment A place where one can avail a house or townhouse for rent.
ATM Machine A spot where an Automated Teller Machine can be found.
Bar/Club A place where one can be entertained and have fun such as dancing, singing, watching shows, and partying.  This does NOT included the place for prostitution.
Budget Eatery A restaurant or carenderia that offers budget meals below 100 pesos.
Budget Hotel A hotel with room rates below 1,000 pesos a night.
Condominium A residential building.
Dorm A place where one can avail bedspaces or room for rent.
E-Load Center A store or place where one can buy prepaid cards for mobile phone reloading.
FREE WiFi A place where WiFi connection is free of charge.
Gas Station A refuelling station.
Home Address A residential house or place of an individual.
Hospital A clinic also belongs to this category.
Police Station This also includes barangay security station.
Resort A place used for relaxation or recreation. It usually has accommodation and a beach front or a swimming pool or a park.
Subdivision A residential place or lot with more than a hundred units or houses.
Tourist Spot A place of interest where tourists visit, typically for its inherent or exhibited cultural value, historical significance, natural or built beauty, or amusement opportunities.  A resort located in a tourist spot does not belong to this category.
Transpo Terminal A place that pertains to terminals for buses, jeepneys, or tricycles.  An airport is also considered in this category.

What is the difference between Home Address and K-Address?

Home Address refers to a spot which is a residential house while K-Address refers to a spot that does not belong to any of the predefined categories.  Both addresses are searchable using the "K-Address Search" panel.  However, Home Address is NOT searchable in the "Search by Filtering" to limit strangers from searching residential addresses in a particular area.

How to add a new spot?

First, you must log-in.  Then, click "Add New Spot".  You have to click on the map to mark a spot.  After that, you are required to provide information of the spot's province, municipality or city, name, and category.  Description and website link are optional.  After completion, click "Save".

Which should I choose if I can't find the category of my spot?

Choose "K-Address".

How to add a photo on my spot?

View your spot and click "Add Photo".  Then, click "Choose File" and select the photo you like to add.  Take note that only photo in jpeg format will be accepted.  Click "Save Photo" to upload the photo.

How to add a video on my spot?

View your spot and click "Add Video".  Copy the YouTube URL link of the video and paste the link in the textbox.  Take note that only URL link from YouTube will be accepted as shown in the example.  Click "Save Video" to save the link.

How to hide my spot from being searchable?

Just delete your spot and it will be disabled or unsearchable.  However, your deleted spot will remain in list of "My Spots" if you will opt to enable or recover it.

Can I recover my deleted spots?

Yes.  Go to "My Spots", click "Edit" and then "Save".

How to set the initial view of the map when adding a new spot?

Edit your profile and set your K-Address.  The address will be used in determining the initial view of the map.

How can I report a spot with invalid information?

Use the comment portion of the said spot.  You have also the option to contact us right away.
