kMarathon

kMarathon is an online competition of KITAMS where participants will showcase their internet skills on encoding/marking new spots on K-Map (KITAMS Map) and at the same time hone their online marketing skills by inviting as many friends as they can to earn more points.

What are the prizes?

Weekly Prize :PHP 1,000.00 Cash
Grand Prize :PHP 6,000.00 Cash
Referral Prize :PHP 2,000.00 Cash
Special Prize :Brand New BlackBerry Curve 8520

Who are qualified to join?

Filipino citizens, who are currently living in the Philippines, can join the competition.

What are the requirements?

A participant must:

a) be a registered member of KITAMS.com with complete profile information including K-Address.

b) have a Facebook account with correct e-mail same as the one provided above and must "like" the Facebook page of KITAMS.com.
c) be a follower of @KITAMSdotCOM twitter account.

What to do to win?

The participant with the highest total points for a particular week will win the weekly prize and the participant with the highest total points from December 10, 2011 to March 2, 2012 will win the grand prize.

A referral prize will be given to a participant with the highest number of referred friends from December 10, 2011 to March 2, 2012.

A special prize will be given for the first participant to reach or pass a total of 33,333 points.

How to get points?

1. Log-in to the website of KITAMS.
2. Read the Frequently Asked Questions to know more about using the K-Map services.
3. Click "Add New Spot" on the user menu.
4. Fill-out the form and then click "Save".  Take note of the following:
a) The name of the spot created or marked should be written properly avoiding All Capital Letters.  Avoid adding the category of the spot to its name.
b) Avoid creating a spot that has already been made by other participants.  In case of duplicate spots to an area, KITAMS' Admin will consider the spot created first by checking the date and time of creation.  The other spot will automatically be deleted without prior notice by the KITAMS' Admin.
c) All spots will be reviewed and approved before the points will be given.
5. Each spot created will get corresponding points based on the category it belongs. Refer to the table below.

6. Once a spot is approved, KITAMS website server will automatically add the points earned by the participants.  To view total points earned, click "kMarathon Points" on the user menu.   Daily Top 5 Participants will be posted through KITAMS website, Facebook page, and Twitter's #kMarathon.

How a participant can earn more points thru referred friends?

1. Participant invites his/her friends to be registered KITAMS members and then asks them to add spots and write symbol "@" followed by the participant's username in the "Description" portion of the form.
Example: @pinoy2011
2. KITAMS website server will automatically detect your username and the points will be added to the participant's account.  Also, the number of participant's referred friends will be added and will have the chance to win the Referral Prize at the end of the competition.

What is the duration of the competition?

The competition will run for 12 weeks and will start on December 10, 2011 and will end on March 2, 2012.  The table below shows weekly duration and declaration date of winners.

The winners of Grand Prize, Referral Prize, and Special Prize will be announced on March 3, 2012.  Winners will be posted through KITAMS website, Facebook page, and Twitter's #kMarathon and will be notified thru e-mail and confirmed through Skype.

How to claim the prizes?

KITAMS will send the cash prizes through Western Union and special prize via LBC within 24 hours after the winners have confirmed.  So, it is advisable that participants must completely fill-out the details of their KITAM's profiles.
